My Primos Truth Cam 35 wildlife camera finds this particular Maine black bear here often, as it seems to be a place of comfort for the bear. For that reason, I have resisted placing my camera there too often. As a point of reference, if you've seen the photographs take from the compost pile, this location is further into the forest, but following along a trail that passes by the compost area, which is itself about a quarter of a mile from a seasonal road in an area we will be referring to as Petra, Maine. It is in the Saint John Valley of Aroostook County, in extreme northern Maine. No one lives anywhere near here, but we own a hundred acres of land here which includes this spot. </p></div> Mon, 08 Aug 2011 19:32:34 -0400 http://www.petramainewildlife.com/060311-videos/060311-101651.html maine black bearblack bear videomaine black bear videoaroostook countypetra mainest. john valleyst. agatha mainesaint agatha mainewildlife video 06/03/11 10:16:19 http://www.petramainewildlife.com/060311-videos/060311-101619.html <div class="article-summary"><p>Again, the Maine black bear appears to be calling for someone, as he continues to scour the grounds in the hope of finding another apple. </p></div> Mon, 08 Aug 2011 19:32:34 -0400 http://www.petramainewildlife.com/060311-videos/060311-101619.html maine black bearmaine black bear videoblack bear videowildlife videonorthern mainearoostook countypetra mainest. agatha maine 06/03/11 10:08:50 http://www.petramainewildlife.com/060311-videos/060311-100850.html <div class="article-summary"><p>This is another ten-second video of the Maine black bear, probably a male, looking for another apple. Not only do we see the Maine black bear in profile, but he finds one of the apples that I left for the deer and moose, and walks off with it. For those who might come upon this video individually, the location is the forests of what we choose to call Petra, which is in Aroostook County, in extreme northern Maine, not far from the Canadian border. The video was taken by a Primos Truth Cam 35 wildlife camera, which is mounted to a tree not far from the bear. </p></div> Mon, 08 Aug 2011 19:32:34 -0400 http://www.petramainewildlife.com/060311-videos/060311-100148.html black bear videomaine black bearvideo of maine black bearbear videowildlife videowildlife moviepetra mainest. agatha mainesaint agatha maine 06/03/11 10:01:19 http://www.petramainewildlife.com/060311-videos/060311-100119.html <div class="article-summary"><p>I'm fairly sure that the bear knows that the camera is there, mounted on a tree not far from where he is standing, but the Maine black bear has determined from past experiences that the camera is a matter of occasional interest, but not a threat to him. Of course, if I were here, the Maine black bear would have heard me before I could come within sight of him, and he'd be gone when I got there, although possibly watching me secretly from the bushes. From these films, you can see that this is a place of comfort for him. </p></div> Mon, 08 Aug 2011 19:32:34 -0400 http://www.petramainewildlife.com/060311-videos/060311-100040.html maine black bearblack bear videomaine black bear videoblack bear filmblack bear moviewildlife videoaroostook countypetra mainest. agatha mainesaint agatha maineprimos truth camwildlife camera 06/03/11 10:00:13 http://www.petramainewildlife.com/060311-videos/060311-100013.html <div class="article-summary"><p>This ten-second video shows the black bear sniffing at a tree. This is the mating season and you can see that the bears have rubbed much of the bark from this small birch. Throughout the album, you will see this same Maine black bear at this tree frequently, and you will also see at least one other bear there, although not at the same time. My camera is a Primos Truth Cam 35 wildlife camera, which is mounted to a tree and protected by a rigid metal case, which is good since this same bear has attacked it more than once, used it as a backscratcher, and gummed the lens up with his nose. </p></div> Mon, 08 Aug 2011 19:32:34 -0400 http://www.petramainewildlife.com/060311-videos/060311-100013.html maine black bearmaine black bear videoblack bear videoblack bear filmprimos truth cam 35black bear moviewildlife videonorthern mainearoostook countypetra mainest. agatha mainesaint agatha mainest. john valley 06/03/11 09:59:04 http://www.petramainewildlife.com/060311-videos/060311-095904.html <div class="article-summary"><p>Other than the compost pile, this is the most likely place to find this bear.
