White-tailed deer

The Maine whitetailed deer has sharp hearing, permitted by its large ears, which can rotate toward suspicious sounds. Their eyes are wide-set, allowing them to focus on subtle movements and allowing for good depth perception. An excellent sense of smell allows them to sense danger even before it can be seen. In addition, their long legs allow them to move quickly by leaping, bounding, turning, and running at speeds up to forty miles an hour.
