I believe that this is the same Maine black bear that seems to be following my camera around the woods. As you can see, I had neatly stacked some boxes of compostable materials on the right side of my roped-in compost area. For those who have not been viewing these photographs and video in order, the compost pile is about a quarter of a mile into the woods from a seasonal road in Petra, Maine. It's not near anyone's house, and the only things deposited here are compostable materials, which often includes food scraps, which attract the black bear.
