To the right, which is the back of the field, the ground is wet and a brook flows through the woods not too far into the tree line. In other areas, the same brook can be approached on dry land but the area all around the brook is marshy here. Even with high boots, I didn't want to walk all the way up to the brook. In the long grass in the back of the fields are several places where deer or moose have bedded down.
