Across the road and about a quarter mile into the woods from the first location in which the black bear showed up, I have a compost pile. In it, I discard anything compostable, mostly shredded paper and cardboard, but I also include closed cardboard boxes of compostable materials. As you can see, the bear begins the composting process by breaking the boxes down into smaller pieces. You will also see that he is intrigued by the camera. When it is taking night shots, the camera doesn't click but it uses either flash or infrared photography, and that gets his attention.
