My Primos Truth Cam 35 wildlife camera has been mounted to a tree at this location for several days now, although it was set to do video earlier. In this series of photographs, you will see that the Maine black bear has returned to what appears to be an area of comfort for him, here in the forests of Petra, Maine. I believe this is the same bear that has appeared in earlier photographs and video, and I think that it is a male black bear.
You probably won't find Petra, Maine on a map. Its is a 100-hundred acre tract of land in the north part of the state's northernmost county, Aroostook County. It is within the St. John Valley, and is not far from the Canadian border. At this point, there are no human beings living in Petra.
